Saturday morning May 8th, 2021 was a brisk 40 degree spring morning for the Ohio Valley PCA Spring Cars and Coffee concours.
But that did not stop 60+ Porsche owners from bringing their shiny steeds out for a casual top side only concours judging.
The theme also was “Derby Day” attire for those who wished to compete in this category. Note to organizers, the Derby was
held last Saturday!
Once again the man behind the microphone during the concours judging of each car was the one and only Kurt Niemeyer
who kept the conversation going while each car was judged. The cars were judges in five classes, Boxster/Cayman, 356,
911 Air Cooled, 911 Water Cooled, and the Celebrated Class for all other models.
DSG members who attended with cars included Carl Iseman, Stan Yarrish, Tony Humbert (356 class), Steve Leiding (911 Air Cooled class),
Ted and Kathy Hunter (Boxster class).
As I mentioned Kurt Niemeyer once again performed the mc duties extremely well. Also spotted in the crowd was Tom Oerther
who decided to bring his Chevy truck! Matt Boettcher stopped by for brief visit, as well as Brian Schroeder who showed off
his recent MG GT purchase.
The morning ended with the concours awards. Stan took first place in the 356 class with his Aquamarine Blue 1957A Coupe.
It was a great day to meet old friends, and make new ones for 2021.
