Hi Gruppe!
We had a spectacular day at Mark and Tina Schlachter`s new Party Barn in Ryland Heights, KY.
They both worked very hard to get things set up for us, and the results were outstanding.
The weather was perfect and we had a very large turnout for the event, over 30 cars
and over 60 guests.
Lots of DSG and OVR friends with a variety of cars were in attendance.
We also had a 1952 Jaguar on display, as well as some really cool V-dubs, and an MGB GT.
There was an amazing array of crock pots full of chili, and the dessert table was overflowing with delectable items.
The pumpkin flavored Whoopie Pies were wonderful! I think that I ate at least six, but I did stop counting.
Ms. Jackie Winder won the closely contested DSG Chili Challenge. She was awarded a trophy from the Porsche Factory,
and a $50.00 gift certificate from Porsche of the Village.
There were numerous others that were voted on that were really great as well.
The variety of recipes was amazing, from vegan to white chicken chili, to a spicy one that would melt your spoon.
We also had Steve Leiding`s secret recipe of Brats and Metts boiled in Yuengling Beer and onions that truly melted in your mouth.
How can you possibly beat a beer and onion infused mett?
Thanks to Steve and Adam Boettcher for helping with the grilling operations. And to all the others that kept the coolers and the hot buffet items stocked.
The horse farm next door to Mark’s property brought over a collection of beautiful horses that were enjoyed by all of us.
My granddaughters Brooke and Paige had a wonderful time riding the horses on the trails.
This made for a very memorable day for all the kids in attendance as well as the adults who rode.
Webmeister Stan Yarrish will be posting photos on the DSG website, so keep an eye out for them listed under the Past Events tab.

Also be sure to mark your calendars for the official annual DSG Holiday Party that will be held on Sunday, December 4th
It will once again be held at the Meritage Restaurant in Glendale, OH. I will be sending out info and menu selections shortly.
