A stellar field of cars and vans from Porsche, VW and Audi filled the large field at Germania Park
in Cincinnati, on a picture perfect Sunday, Sept 25th.
I counted roughly 60 Porsches with probably the most 356’s ever seen at the Reunion in recent times.
DSG members Dick Weiss, Stan Yarrish, Ron Jones, Dan Puchalski, Carl Iseman were judged as one of
the top twenty Porsches on the field. Glenn Patterson took the “Best Porsche” award for his fantastic
1973 inspired 911.
Here is a little history of the car as supplied by Glenn.
“A previous owner, I believe from Montana, commissioned the build or sold the car to Richard Schickman in New York
who started the project as a 1973 911 RSR tribute. The “project” went through several owners who apparently made changes
and then gave up on it. I acquired it from a dealer in New Jersey about three years ago.
Mark Schlachter at Metalkraft Coachwerks made all the changes that I wanted in order to finish the “project”,
which included significant metal and paint matching work.”
Fred Zacharius also took a top twenty award for his newly acquired early 911
coupe, (ex Steve Leiding car).
Also spotted in the field were 356’s from Tom Oerther, Joe Gross, Fred Uhlmann, Tony Humbert,
,Russell Clarke, and Bill Myers. Also on hand were Brian Schroeder in his 912, and Matthew Boettcher
in his early 911 Targa.
