Fred Uhlmann set up a drive and tour to the Bicycle Museum of America in New Bremen. Ohio on Saturday May 22nd. Russell, Dick and Stan made the trip with Fred to this unique off the beaten path small town USA.
The US headquarters of Crown Material Handling Equipment Co. is the major employer here outside of agriculture. The downtown was exceptionally well kept and clean, and the bicycle museum was housed in a restored building in downtown New Bremen. It was noted that this is the 2nd largest collection of antique bicycles in the United States. For more in depth information about the museum visit their website at Bicyclemuseum.com.
After the tour, the staff recommended the Moeller Brew Barn located about
six miles away. We were pleasantly surprised that such a newly constructed
micro brewery and restaurant could be found among the farms surrounding New Bremen. Looking at map, St. Mary’s lake is just a few miles North, so this highway probably gets traffic to/from the lake.
